Million dollar win for Northern Rivers resident in lotto draw

Life is looking up for an Evans Head man one year on from the region’s devastating floods after he scored a jubilant $1 million in last night’s Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.

The Northern Rivers resident held one of the three division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4267, drawn Wednesday 8 March 2023 and took home $1,000,000.00.

It’s the second division one win to land in the Northern Region during the past fortnight. A Lismore man scooped a $1 million win in one of last week’s Monday & Wednesday Lotto draws.

The winning man shared that his mother, who was sitting with him as he checked his ticket this morning, started to cry when his good fortune was revealed. “I’m shocked,” he laughed.

“My mum started to cry across the table when we were checking off the winning numbers from last night’s draw.

“We were affected by the floods in our region precisely one year ago. It’s been tough. “We’ve only just gotten back on our feet. It’s been a big 12 months!

“We saw another Lismore man won division one last week, so it’s great to see positivity come around for the locals.

“We’ve always dreamt about winning division one, but never expected it to happen to us. We might win $1,000 on Keno here and there, but not $1 million!

“Things like this don’t usually happen to folks like us.

“We’re not too sure what we will do with the money, but we know it will go a long way. “It’s overwhelming but a great feeling!”

His winning entry was purchased at Evans Head Newsagency, 1/8 Oak Street, Evans Head.
