Million dollar powerball ticket sold in Energy North

There was still no jackpot winner for Saturday night’s $1.6 billion Powerball drawing, but one lucky person in Boxboro still came away with $1 million.

A $1 million winning Powerball ticket was sold in the town on Saturday at Energy North. The prize was the highest lottery win in the state on Saturday.

Six other Massachusetts Powerball players went home with $50,000, including in Buzzards Bay, Pembroke, Mashpee, Marlboro and two in Marshfield.

There were 228 winning lottery tickets worth at least $600 sold in Massachusetts on Saturday, including seven in Worcester and six in Springfield.

Every day, the Massachusetts State Lottery releases a list of all the winning tickets that are worth more than $600.

The largest state lottery prize won in the commonwealth this year, worth $16.35 million, was claimed this week after sitting unclaimed for nearly two months following the Sept. 10 win.

Part of the “Megabucks Doubler” game, the winning ticket was purchased at a Cumberland Farms location in Ware.

There were also three $15 million prizes won in Massachusetts this year.
