McAnn Bradford, a second-grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary School, was recently awarded the Excellence in Education award.

Bradford will receive a plaque, a $1,500 cash prize, and a $500 grant for her classroom, school, or district.

The program was established in 2014 and awards outstanding educators throughout the school year.

At the end of the year, one of the weekly winners is selected as the Educator of the Year and awarded a $10,000 cash prize. Bradford expressed her lifelong desire to become a teacher and her appreciation for the award.
