Mass. man wins $1 million on lottery ticket he bought at liquor store

Jose Coto Portillo, a resident of East Boston, Massachusetts, has claimed a $1 million prize from a lottery scratch ticket he purchased from a local liquor store.

Portillo chose to receive his prize as a one-time cash payment of $650,000 before taxes and is considering buying a house with his winnings.

Portillo's winning ticket was a "$4,000,000 Money Bags" scratch ticket purchased from Castillo Liquors, a package store located in his hometown.

The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

On the same day, there were also 23 prizes worth $20,000 each claimed from the "Billion Dollar Extravaganza" scratch ticket, and a $100,000 "Millions" scratch ticket claimed and purchased from a different package store named Newhall's Liquors in Lynn, Massachusetts.
