Massachusetts Lottery Player Turns $50 Scratch Ticket Into $2 Million Win

A routine stop at a Mobil gas station in Melrose turned into a $2 million lottery win for a Massachusetts player.
The IASACO Trust of Quincy recently claimed the top prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$25,000,000 Mega Money” scratch game. Trustee David Spillane represented the trust when the winning ticket was claimed on August 27.
Instead of taking the full prize over time, the trust chose a one-time payment of $1.3 million before taxes.

Only three top-prize tickets were issued for the game statewide. One has now been claimed, leaving two $2 million prizes still available.
The game’s largest prize so far this year was a $25 million winning ticket sold at a Cumberland Farms in Turners Falls, one of Montague’s five villages.
