Charles Co. Mom Wins $100,000 Lottery Prize with Subs Purchase

A Charles County mother of three won $100,000 on a Maryland Lottery scratch-off ticket purchased at a Wawa in Waldorf.

The winner, who wished to remain anonymous, initially had no intention of buying the instant ticket but was persuaded by her daughter.

After purchasing the ticket, the lucky winner scratched it off later that evening and was shocked to see that she had won the second-tier prize of $100,000 on the 50 Years! Scratch-off, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Maryland Lottery.

The winner downloaded the Lottery app to confirm the win and plans to use the money for good things. Lottery officials remind players to always play responsibly.
