A longtime recreational therapist from Prince George’s County says he had to pinch himself after landing a life-changing win on a scratch-off ticket.

The Maryland Lottery confirmed that the man, who’s been helping people for 25 years, scored a $100,000 jackpot from a $10 “$100,000 Crossword” ticket.

Here’s how it happened:

• He bought two tickets at a liquor store in Temple Hills.

• While on a work break, he scratched them and realized he matched 10 words on puzzles two and three.

• That’s when the shocking $100K win became real.

The winner shared that the money will help him get his finances in order—a reward well deserved after decades in his career.

Temple Hills, where he purchased the lucky ticket, sits roughly 50 miles southwest of Baltimore.
