Retiree Wins $50,000 Powerball Prize from Quick-Pick Ticket

A retiree from Abingdon, Maryland, has struck it rich once again by winning a substantial $50,000 Powerball prize.

This 61-year-old woman, who frequently enjoys lottery games, bought her winning ticket at the local 7-Eleven, a store where she typically purchases her weekly games. While she usually plays with her own set of numbers, it was actually a quick-pick ticket bought for her husband that brought her this windfall.

The fortunate winner usually engages in various lottery games like Bonus Match 5 and Pick 3/4/5, without particularly pursuing the colossal $1.765 billion Powerball jackpot, which was recently claimed by a California player. A routine visit to 7-Eleven resulted in the surprise of a lifetime.

Upon checking her ticket, the winner was initially convinced she held a $1,000 winner. However, using her mobile Lottery app to scan the ticket revealed a stunning $50,000 prize. Interestingly, this is not the retiree's first lottery victory; she previously won $50,000 playing Bonus Match 5 in 2017.

While claiming the prize at the Lottery's Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, the grandparents expressed their plans to use their newfound wealth for Christmas celebrations, a well-deserved vacation, and savings.
