Jury Duty Prompts $50K Maryland Lottery Win In Lothian For Lanham Man

Anne Arundel County, MD — A Prince George's County man won $50,000 on a Maryland Lottery ticket that he bought in Anne Arundel County while heading to jury duty.

The winner, Marc Holly, is a frequent lottery player. On his way to work, Holly usually buys a Bonus Match 5 draw game ticket from the same store with the same numbers. He changed it up last Wednesday when he had to catch a bus before jury duty.

Holly stopped at the Lothian Dash In, but the gas station convenience store was crowded. The Lanham resident didn't have time to wait in line and choose his normal numbers, so he let the machine pick random ones instead.

Holly checked the results that night on his lottery mobile application and realized he scored the game's top prize. This was the 34th top prize won this year in the Bonus Match 5 game.

The construction worker plans to use some of his winnings to catch up on bills.

Dash In No. 11342, located at 1378 Mt. Zion Marlboro Road, will also get a $500 bonus for selling the top-prize winning ticket.
