A stroke of luck has turned one person's fortunes around as they pocket a hefty sum of $280,089 with a winning lottery ticket purchased in Baton Rouge.
The fortunate individual secured the Easy 5 jackpot after buying the ticket from the popular Popingo's #2 convenience store situated at 3839 South Burnside Avenue in Gonzales.
The Louisiana Lottery confirmed that the prize was either claimed or won on Saturday, May 27.
As per the lottery regulations, winners of scratch-off tickets and Fast Play tickets have 90 days to claim their prizes, while winners of draw-style game tickets have up to 180 days to come forward and collect their winnings.
