Fortunate Massachusetts state lottery player scoops a big jackpot recently

A man from Rockport won $1 million on a Massachusetts State Lottery scratch ticket and told the lottery he’s got two big purchases in mind for the money.

William Macaione won his $1 million prize from the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Money Bags” scratch ticket game and claimed it on April 18, the lottery said.

Macaione was joined by his wife, Elaine Engemann, at lottery headquarters to claim the prize, and opted to receive it in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes.

The Rockport man wants to buy a new car with his cash, and to pay off the mortgage on his house, the lottery said.

Macaione bought his $1 million ticket at the Rockport Market, located at 21 Bdwy. in Rockport. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket, the lottery said.
