Lucky Lotto player wins Gold Ball Draw prize worth $1 million

A lucky Lotto 6/49 player named Katherine Russell won a whopping sum of $1 million playing Gold Ball drawing held on November 25 of last year.

The winning ticket was sold at Woodward’s C-Store and Gas Station Downtown in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, N.L. The store will receive a bonus of $1,000 for selling the winning ticket.

When the store manager confirmed her win, the realization hit her like a wave. “With that, I was shaking, and tears started to run down my cheeks,” Russell said. “She asked if I was going to be alright, I won’t tell you what I said."

With the winning amount Russell plans to renovate her house and also plans to celebrate her big win with her kids.

Lotto 6/49 is one of three national lottery games in Canada. The "Gold Ball Draw", formerly the "guaranteed prize draw", which is a raffle prize of at least $1 million that is awarded during each draw. Some drawings (promoted as a "Superdraw") offer multiple secondary raffle prizes.
