2 Louisville men stop for bathroom break, win $50k on lottery

Michael Brown and Steve Conley, two Louisville residents, discovered their lottery luck after a pit stop following a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert.

While in Verona, Kentucky, off I-71, the duo decided to purchase a Powerball ticket on a whim.

Despite not being regular lottery players, Brown and Conley split the ticket and ended up winning the $50,000 third prize in the Dec. 30 drawing. Matching the first four numbers and the Powerball, the lucky pair plans to use the winnings to recover from Christmas and save the rest.

The Verona Hop Shop, where the ticket was sold, will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
