Eladhandro Williams, residing in Lillington, made a fateful purchase of a $30 Millionaire Maker scratch-off ticket, and luck smiled upon her as she clinched the game's top prize of $1 million.

The winning ticket was bought at Cape Fear Beverage & Variety, situated at 400 W Old Road in Lillington.

Williams, seizing the moment, made her way to the North Carolina Education Lottery headquarters in Raleigh on Friday.

She made the decision to opt for the lump sum prize of $600,000 instead of the annuity, which offered $50,000 distributed over 20 years.
