Kernersville resident won $1 million worth jackpot in scratch off lottery, the winner will soon be $1 million times richer than before. 

Laura Keen bought her winning lottery ticket at the 7-Eleven on South Main Street in Kernersville.

When Laura and ger boyfriend came to know about the winning prize is $1 million, they both started screaming out of joy. 

While claiming the lottery ticket she was provided with an option, either to receive a annuity of $50,000 over 20 years or a lump sum of $600,000.

She chose the lump-sum amount of $600,000 and after required state and federal tax withholdings, she took home $426,069.

When asked how will she spend her prize, she said that she would think smartly and may use some to take a small vacation.
