Kent County Woman Wins $1 Million on Michigan Lottery Scratch-Off
A Kent County woman is celebrating a $1 million Michigan Lottery win after scratching a $1,000,000 Bonus Scratch Multiplier ticket at home.
The 58-year-old winner, who chose to remain anonymous, said she buys lottery tickets almost every day and often visits different stores. After getting home and scratching her ticket, she spotted the $1 million prize and screamed so loudly that she scared her son.
She purchased the lucky $10 ticket at Aikan Liquor, 1640 44th St. SE in Kentwood.
When she claimed her prize at Michigan Lottery headquarters, she chose a one-time lump-sum payment of about $693,000 instead of receiving the full $1 million through an annuity.
βIt is such a relief to win a big prize like this. It means no more stress and is going to make life easier.β
The winner said she plans to save the money, while also enjoying some of the unexpected windfall with her son.
