National Lottery Urges Players to Check Tickets After Major Wins

A lucky lottery player from Tameside has finally claimed a £1 million National Lottery prize after leaving the winning ticket unnoticed for four months. The winner came forward just in time, as the ticket was due to expire in December.

National Lottery officials had launched a major search campaign, urging players across Greater Manchester to check their tickets following the summer draw.

Andy Carter, senior winners' advisor at Allwyn, said the team had worked hard to spread the word about the missing millionaire. Surprisingly, the winner had no idea they were holding a ticket worth such a life-changing amount.

The winner's identity has not yet been revealed while the claim goes through the verification process.

Another £5.8 Million Lottery Jackpot Remains Unclaimed

While the Tameside mystery has been solved, another major Lotto prize is still waiting for its rightful owner.

A ticket purchased in Lewisham, southeast London, matched all six main numbers in the September 26 draw, winning an impressive £5,844,340 jackpot.

Here are the winning numbers:

  • Main numbers: 22, 27, 38, 42, 47, 59
  • Bonus Ball: 31

The winner has until March 25, 2027, to claim the money. That's 180 days from the original draw date.

National Lottery officials are encouraging anyone who purchased a ticket in the Lewisham area for that draw to check their numbers carefully.

The Tameside win is part of a successful year for Lotto, with 151 players becoming millionaires since January.

With millions of pounds still waiting to be claimed in Lewisham, lottery officials are reminding players not to overlook their tickets. A quick check could reveal an unexpected fortune
