Georgia Lottery Buzz Grows Ahead of Massive $1.7 Billion Powerball Drawing

Christmas Eve is bringing serious lottery buzz across the Peach State as the Powerball jackpot rockets to an eye-popping $1.7 billion for the December 24, 2025 drawing. That puts it among the four biggest prizes in Powerball history, and players are lining up with big dreams and bigger hopes.

Some folks already know exactly what they’d do with the cash. Tonya Ford says her wish list starts fast and loud.
Her plan? A Ford Raptor, paid-off college for her kids, plenty of travel, and making sure family is taken care of before fully enjoying life.

Not everyone is jumping in, though. John Wilson says he’s sticking with scratch-off tickets and skipping the Powerball altogether. With odds at 1 in 292 million, he admits the jackpot feels like a long shot.

Gas station employees say the excitement is hard to miss. At one Shell location, players have been dropping hundreds of dollars at a time on Powerball tickets, with most customers grabbing at least one ticket when they walk in.
