Harwich Man Hits $4 Million Lottery Jackpot
A Harwich man is celebrating a $4 million lottery win after getting lucky on a Massachusetts State Lottery scratch ticket.
Jose Valerio landed the top prize on the 100X instant ticket game on August 24. He bought the winning ticket at Main Street Market in Harwich after using money he had won while playing Keno.
Big win for the store, too:
- Valerio will receive a one-time payment of $2.6 million.
- Main Street Market will collect a $40,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
- Valerio says he plans to use his winnings to buy a house.
Another Big Cape Cod Lottery Winner
Valerio wasn't the only Cape Cod resident to score big this month.
On August 18, Bourne resident Tia James won $100,000 playing the Massachusetts Lottery's online Fortunes of Cleopatra game. She plans to put some of the money toward back-to-school shopping for her children and treat herself to a relaxing spa day.
With two major winners in just over a week, it's been a pretty lucky stretch for Cape Cod lottery players.
