Gaston County man won Megabucks lottery ticket worth $250k

A lucky man from Gaston County named Paul Cobler Jr. won a whopping sum of $250,000 playing N.C. education Lottery’s Mega Bucks drawing.
The winning ticket was sold at the Walmart on Northwest Boulevard in Newton. The store will receive a bonus of $2,000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket.
The winner recently claimed his winning amount from the lottery headquarters and after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $178,126.
He said he would like to use the winnings to pay off his house and car, and save for retirement.
North Carolina has one of the United States' youngest lottery systems, having been enacted in 2005.
According to the N.C. Education Lottery, Mega Bucks Limited Edition debuted in August with five $250,000 prizes.
