Fred Meyer donates $50,000 to Auburn Food Bank from Powerball win

A winner providing 66,000 meals to the community as part of its Zero Hunger, Zero Waste campaign.

The Fred Meyer in Auburn, Washington, received a $50,000 reward for selling the winning $754.6million Powerball ticket. 

However, instead keeping the money for themselves the store donated the entire amount to the Auburn Food Bank as part of its Zero Hunger and Zero Waste campaign aimed at ending hunger and getting rid of waste. 

The $50,000 will provide 66,000 meals for the community. Additionally, Fred Meyer is giving $10,000 to the Auburn store for its associates to celebrate. 

The winning Powerball ticket was sold on February 5 and has not been claimed yet, with the winner having 180 days from the drawing day to claim the jackpot.
