Florida man wins $100,000 Powerball prize while visiting Virginia

A man from Fort Pierce won Powerball lottery ticket worth $100,000 with the ticket that he bought while visiting his brother in Virginia.

The winning ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven store on Indian River Road in Virginia Beach. The ticket distributor will get a bonus of $1000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket.

The winning numbers were: 1-6-40-51-67, with the Powerball number 2 and the winner matched four numbers and the Powerball to earn his prize.

Powerball is an American lottery game offered by 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. 

Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evening at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time, at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
