Elizabeth Downs Man's Weekend Ends on a High with $25,000 Instant Scratch-Its Win

A man from Elizabeth Downs had a weekend filled with ups and downs, but it ultimately ended on a high note after winning $25,000 from an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

The winning ticket was a $2 Mint Money top prize purchased at the Craigmore Newsagency, located at Shop 6 & 18 in Craigmore Village Shopping Centre on Yorktown Road.

Winner and his wife had been eyeing a new car for about a year and were recently offered a good price for their trade-in.

However, they discovered they needed an additional $30,000 to afford the car they had set their hearts on.

Later that day, they purchased a couple of Instant Scratch-Its tickets and took them home to try their luck.

As they scratched the tickets, the man's wife thought they had both lost and tossed her ticket aside.

But upon closer inspection, the man discovered he had won $25,000 on one of the tickets. He shouted out in excitement, "Oh my God!"

His wife had misunderstood how to obtain the top prize, so he took the winning ticket to the outlet for verification and was delighted to confirm his win.
