Polkton woman Nora Huntley hit the jackpot during a quick break at work, turning a $5 scratch-off into a $200,000 win.
Huntley, who works at the Marathon Food Center on U.S. 74 East, grabbed a 5 Times Lucky ticket while on break. “I saw a two and zero and thought I had just won $20,” she laughed. But as she scratched further, she realized the prize was $200,000.
“I was stunned,” Huntley said. “I just got lucky.”
The excited grandmother plans to share her winnings with her 15 grandchildren. “This is really going to come in handy,” she said. “It’s a blessing.”
