More than 2 million lottery tickets were sold in the first five hours of being made available yesterday through the government's Paotang e-wallet app, double the amount of its first round, according to the Government Lottery Office (GLO).
GLO Chairman Lavaron Sangsnit said on Friday that regarding the online sale of lottery tickets dated July 1, 2.18 million were snapped up by 382,814 buyers after sales started at 6am.
That figure was double the sales volume of the previous round, when around 800,000 tickets were bought by some 200,000 buyers.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister's Office Minister Anucha Nakasai said after 15 days have elapsed, winning tickets can only be claimed from the GLO, as opposed to via bank transfer, but the deadline extends to two years.
The history of purchases will be recorded in the app for a year, Mr Anucha said.
