VA Lottery rewards Dublin shop for selling Powerball winning ticket

The owners of a gas station in Dublin, Virginia, received a $50,000 check from the Virginia Lottery for selling the winning Powerball ticket that hit the jackpot for an estimated $161 million.

The winning ticket holder has yet to come forward to claim their prize, but they have 180 days to do so.

The store owner, Andy Gill, plans to use a portion of the money to donate to the community and feed the hungry, as well as to reward team members.

"As Gill Brothers, we're committed to being involved in our communities," he said.

This is not the first time that a Virginia retailer has received a bonus for selling a winning ticket; the Virginia Lottery has a Retailer Incentive Program that rewards retailers who sell winning tickets of $10,000 or more.
