Family shop in Louth sold €1m jackpot Lotto ticket as hunt continues for winner

A lucky punter has become the 28th National Lottery millionaire this year - after buying their ticket on the day of the draw last Saturday.

The winning numbers in Saturday September 17's Lotto Plus 1 draw were: 06, 10, 14, 21, 26, 37, with the bonus number 27.

Established over 55 years ago by Peter and Anne Sloan, Sloane’s newsagents on Avenue Road in Dundalk has been announced as the shop that sold the winning ticket.

Peter and Anne are supported in the shop by their children Margaret, Mary, Peter and Paul, who all work for the family business.

And Margaret was thrilled to hear that one of their customers became an overnight millionaire after a visit to their store.

She said: "This is literally a dream come true for our family and for the store.

"The excitement that we as a family had at selling the winning ticket was an incredible feeling, you’d swear we won the prize ourselves!"

Margaret added: "It really is such a community store and we know each and every one of our customers who come through the door.

"It is a fantastic community and we are just thrilled that one of those families is €1million richer.
