It was a lucky day in Georgia as two lottery players scored big with $10 million and $20,000 wins

A Cartersville man won $10M playing a Georgia Lottery scratch-off. The ticket was bought at QuikTrip. CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — A Cartersville resident is $10 million richer after playing a Georgia Lottery scratch-off game.

The winner, who has not been named, hit the top prize on the “500X The Money” scratcher. The ticket was purchased at a QuikTrip on Old Allatoona Road in Cartersville.

The player claimed the prize on May 27 and chose the lump-sum cash option of more than $5.2 million.

The Georgia Lottery confirmed the news in a press release Monday, adding that scratch-off players across the state took home more than $43 million in total winnings last week alone.

In another lucky moment, a Stone Mountain resident won $20,000 playing the Color Word Match Diggi Game on the Georgia Lottery app. That win came on June 5. '

Both traditional scratchers and Diggi Games contribute to Georgia’s education programs. Since its launch, the Georgia Lottery has raised nearly $29.5 billion for education.

These funds help support HOPE Scholarships and Georgia’s statewide Pre-K Program, which have reached more than 2.2 million students.
