Double Delight: Two Bay Staters Win $100,000 Lottery Prizes on the Same Day
In an extraordinary turn of events, Massachusetts saw not one, but two fortunate individuals claim $100,000 lottery prizes on Thursday, June 8. The Massachusetts State Lottery made the thrilling announcement, revealing the details of the winning tickets and where they were sold.
One of the $100,000 prizes was claimed from a "Millions" scratch ticket, purchased at Prestige Berkley, a gas station located in Berkley. This win marked one of the 22 tickets worth $600 or more claimed from the game on that eventful day.
The second $100,000 prize came from the daily "Mass Cash" drawing, with the winning ticket sold at Hilltop Convenience, a general store in Plainville. In the "Mass Cash" game, players choose five numbers between 1 and 35 for a chance to win one of three available prizes. Matching all five numbers awards the player $100,000, while matching four or three numbers results in smaller prizes of $250 and $10, respectively.
Notably, these two winners were part of a remarkable tally of at least 657 lottery prizes worth $600 or more won or claimed in Massachusetts on the same day. Among these winnings, 15 prizes were claimed in Springfield, and 21 in Worcester, adding to the excitement surrounding the state's lottery scene.
The state of Massachusetts has already witnessed significant lottery victories in 2023, with two massive Mega Millions jackpots taking the spotlight. A $33 million jackpot was won on January 24, and a $31 million jackpot on January 31. The winning tickets were purchased a week apart from different locations, with one bought at a Stop & Shop in Belchertown and the other at a Gibbs gas station in Woburn. The lucky winners eventually stepped forward to claim their life-changing prizes in March.
