A Powerball ticket sold in Northwest Indiana, valued at $50,000, is nearing its expiration date of Jan. 29 if left unclaimed.
The Hoosier Lottery urges residents in the Region area to thoroughly check their belongings for any potentially winning tickets.
The winning ticket, purchased at Citgo on 1312 W. Chicago Ave. in East Chicago, was bought for the Aug. 2, 2023, Powerball drawing.
It successfully matched four white balls and the red Powerball, securing the game's third-highest prize. The numbers drawn for the Aug. 2 game were 23-24-33-51-64 with the Powerball number 5.
Lottery regulations mandate that all prizes from draw games must be claimed within 180 days of the respective drawing.
