Connecticut Lottery Player Wins $250,000 on Scratch-Off Ticket
A lucky Connecticut Lottery player from West Haven is $250,000 richer after hitting the top prize on a $250,000 Ca$hword scratch-off ticket Friday.
The winning ticket was purchased at J&H Food Mart on Maple Avenue in North Haven, according to the Connecticut Lottery.
$250,000 Winning Ticket
The player faced 1 in 750,000 odds of landing the game's top $250,000 prize.
The win also ranks as the second-largest Connecticut Lottery cash prize claimed so far in September. The biggest prize this month was a $1 million win claimed by a Jewett City resident on September 2.
The $20 scratch-off game launched in Connecticut in October 2024. To play, ticket holders scratch the “Your Numbers” section to reveal 20 letters, then uncover the matching letters across three Ca$hword puzzles.
- Three or more words in a puzzle can win a prize.
- The top $250,000 prize requires matching 10 words in each of the first two puzzles.
For this West Haven player, those letters turned into a very lucky Friday.
