Charlotte Man Wins $100,000 Powerball Prize with $3 Ticket
A resident of Charlotte, Fekri Soussi, is now $100,000 richer thanks to a single Powerball ticket. Soussi decided to try his luck with a $3 Power Play ticket and emerged as a winner in Monday's drawing.
The ticket was purchased from Adams Mart on Elm Lane in Charlotte, where Soussi's fortune took shape. By matching the numbers on four white balls and the red Powerball, he initially secured a $50,000 prize. However, luck was on his side as the 2X multiplier came into play, doubling his winnings to a total of $100,000.
Excited about his victory, Soussi wasted no time in claiming his prize. He visited the lottery's headquarters on Friday to officially collect his winnings.
After federal and state tax withholdings, he walked away with a final sum of $71,257.
