Fortunate cedar rapids guy wins $1 million recently in powerball lottery game

A resident of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has won a $1 million Powerball prize after matching all five white balls in a recent drawing.

The lucky winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket from a Hy-Vee grocery store in the city.

The winning numbers for the draw were 5, 8, 17, 27, and 28, with a Powerball of 14.

The Cedar Rapids resident was the only player to match all five numbers, winning the $1 million prize. The Iowa Lottery has confirmed that the ticket has been verified and the prize has been claimed.

The Hy-Vee grocery store that sold the winning ticket will also receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the ticket.

The lucky winner said he plans to use the money to pay off debts, save for retirement, and travel. The Powerball jackpot now resets to $20 million for the next drawing.
