Man wins $10M prize from scratch-off after telling clerk to ‘pick whichever one’

A California man's visit to a gas station in Visalia turned into a life-changing moment as he purchased a winning scratch-off ticket, making him an instant millionaire. Brent Young, unsure of which scratcher to choose, sought the clerk's help at Prince Food & Gas. The clerk selected a $30 California 200X game for him. As he started scratching the ticket, Young discovered the game's top prize of $10 million halfway down.

"When I saw all those zeros, I was like 'no way, this doesn’t happen to people like me,'" Young expressed. He marveled at the luck, recognizing that the clerk could have chosen a different game.

Young mentioned that he usually buys lottery tickets at another gas station but had to go to Prince's because his regular stop was closed that day.

Opting for the lump sum of $5.8 million, Young's life took an unexpected turn. The gas station's owner also received a $50,000 prize for selling the winning ticket. It's a story of unexpected fortune and serendipity.
