Boeing employee wins $747 million Powerball jackpot

Becky Ball, a 36-year employee of Boeing from Auburn, Washington, won the Powerball jackpot of $747 million after buying a ticket at a local grocery store.

She noticed the jackpot had reached the same number as the Boeing 747 and felt it was meant to be. Ball, who planned to retire in June, will now retire in March and share her winnings with her family.

The Fred Meyer store that sold the winning ticket received a $50,000 gift from the state lottery, which they will donate to help feed the homeless and needy in their community.

The store also received a $10,000 party for its associates to celebrate the winning ticket.
