An East Boston guy wins $1 million in Massachusetts state lottery game

A Massachusetts state lottery player from East Boston scoops a big jackpot recently

The new $50 “Billion Dollar Extravaganza” scratch ticket released by the Massachusetts State Lottery in the beginning of July sold its first winning $1 million prize, and it was claimed on the first day of July.

The winner bought their $1 million ticket from a liquor store in East Boston called Neptune Liquors. The winning $1 million ticket was one of 253 total tickets claimed from “Billion Dollar Extravaganza” on Wednesday.

There were also 19 “Billion Dollar Extravaganza” tickets sold that were claimed on Wednesday worth $20,000 each across the state, including two in Peabody, two in Weymouth and one in Springfield, and there was one $50,000 “Billion Dollar Extravaganza” scratch ticket sold.

That $50,000 ticket was sold in Quincy from Adams Variety store. The odds of winning any “Billion Dollar Extravaganza” prize is 4.1, and the odds of winning the $25 million grand prize are 1 in 10.08 million.
