NC scratch-off ticket winner! Alabama woman visiting Fayetteville gets $2 million prize

A woman from Winfield, Alabama, is making plans to move back to her home state of North Carolina after winning $2 million on a Mega 7’s lottery ticket.

Brittaney Dominguez purchased the $20 ticket from a gas station in Fayetteville and scratched it at a friend’s house.

Dominguez said she couldn't believe her luck and had to double-check the ticket with the store clerk. She opted for the lump-sum payout, which after tax withholdings, amounted to $854,633.

In addition to purchasing a new home, Dominguez plans to invest some of her winnings and start a food-truck business. The Mega 7’s lottery debuted in October with four $2 million prizes and eight $100,000 prizes. Two $2 million prizes and three $100,000 prizes remain unclaimed.
