The unregistered ticket required the lucky winner to personally check and claim the prize

A generous Novar Gardens father has pledged to help his adult children pay off their mortgages with his $200,000 win in a recent Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.

The Adelaide resident scored the 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1644, drawn Wednesday 31 January 2024.

The ticket was unregistered which means officials from The Lott had no way of contacting the ticketholder and had to wait for him to check his ticket and come forward to claim the prize.

The gleeful man received the surprise of a lifetime when he went to check his ticket at the local newsagency and was floored with a major lottery loot – five days after the draw had taken place.

“I’m so happy – over the moon!” he cheered.

“I went to check the ticket at the newsagency and the team member said they couldn’t pay it out at the newsagency.

“I thought to myself, ‘Hmm, that’s strange. Maybe I won something big!’.

“Now I’m talking to you about a $200,000 win which is wonderful news. “I’m going to help my children.

They’re a priority to me. The more we help them, the better it is.

“We will help them by paying off their mortgages.

“Thank you so much.” His winning entry was purchased at Novar Gardens Newsagency, Shop 5 / 122 Morphett Road, Novar Gardens.
