A third prize Powerball lottery ticket is sold out in Staten Island

A lucky Powerball lottery player from Staten Island wins a big jackpot recently

It was a lucky day for the person who won a third-prize Powerball ticket worth $50,000, according to lottery officials.

The New York Lottery announced that the Powerball ticket was sold at Farmers Petroleum at the 7-Eleven store at 2477 Hylan Blvd. in New Dorp for the May 29 drawing.

It had four matching numbers and the Powerball. The winning numbers for the May 29 Powerball drawing are white balls 21-33-35-62-64 and red Powerball 24.

The winning numbers for the Powerball game are drawn from a field of one to 69. The Powerball number is drawn from a separate field of one to 26.

In order to win the jackpot, players must match all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball number.

Powerball tickets can be purchased at any New York Lottery retailer for $2, seven days a week. The deadline for purchasing a ticket is 10 p.m. on draw nights.
