A scratch off lottery player from Austintown scoops a big jackpot recently

A man in Austintown has won $300,000 off of a scratch-off ticket. The man bought the winning ticket at the BP at 890 Canfield Niles Road.

The ticket is an Ohio Lottery's Special Edition Cashword which costs $5. After state and federal taxes the ticket will bring home $216,000 for the lucky winner. As of January 6, there are three more top prizes left in the game in Ohio.

The winner has to reach the nearest lottery headquarters for further documentation formalities and for claiming their winning prize money, lottery officials said.

They also announced that the winner has only 180 days from the day of the lottery draw to claim the winning prize money.
