A Powerball lottery player from Phoenix scoops a big jackpot recently

A Powerball lottery ticket purchased in Phoenix is now worth $1 million after Wednesday's drawing.

The lucky ticket was sold at a QuikTrip near 7th Street and Northern Avenue, according to the Arizona Lottery. Wednesday's winning numbers were 24, 29, 44, 47, 54 and Powerball: 2.

The jackpot comes after another $1 million ticket was won in the April 6 drawing.

That ticket was also purchased in Phoenix and resulted in 19 players splitting the jackpot and each taking home about $52,000.

The winner has to reach the nearest lottery headquarters for further documentation formalities and for claiming their winning prize money, lottery officials said.

The winner is planning to buy a car after claiming the winning prize money, lottery officials said.
