A lucky Minnesota man wins $3 million in lotto lottery game

A Minnesota man's life has been changed forever after he won a massive $3 million jackpot from the Powerball Lottery.

The lucky winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, matched all five numbers in the December 17th draw, but missed the Powerball number. His prize was $3 million. 

The winner told lottery officials he normally opts for Quick Picks, but for this particular drawing he decided to choose his own numbers.

He picked his numbers based on a combination of birthdays and family members’ ages.

While the winner wasn’t aware he had won until a few days later, he’s now got some huge plans. He told lottery officials he plans to pay off his bills, create a college fund for his children and potentially take a much-deserved vacation.

The winner is one of seven jackpot winners since the inception of Powerball jackpot in 1998. Minnesota has seen 111 winners take home some big wins over the past two decades.
