An Indiana man has defied the odds by winning his second lottery jackpot in just three years. Robert Hamilton, of Indianapolis, won $1 million in the state's Hoosier Lottery earlier this month, just three years after he won a $50,000 Powerball prize.

Hamilton's latest win came from a scratch-off ticket he purchased at a local convenience store. He opted to take the lump sum of $657,000 after taxes.

Hamilton said he plans to use the money to pay off his bills, buy a new home, and save for his retirement.

The odds of winning two lottery jackpots in such a short amount of time are incredibly rare.

According to lottery officials, the odds of winning a $1 million Hoosier Lottery prize are approximately 1 in 2.1 million.

Despite his remarkable luck, Hamilton says he doesn't plan to continue playing the lottery regularly.
