A lucky Hy-Vee guy wins $140,000 recently in scratch off lottery game

Someone bought a single winning ticket in Omaha for Monday’s Nebraska Pick 5 lottery jackpot.
The ticket, worth $140,000, matched all five numbers (8, 14, 23, 26, 37), beating odds of 1 in 658,008. It was sold at the Hy-Vee supermarket near 90th Street and West Center Road.
The last Pick 5 winner, Joseph Cunningham of the Elkhorn area, won $200,000 in the April 12 drawing. The Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot starts at $50,000 and grows $10,000 each day there is no winner.
Holders of winning tickets have six months to claim their prize. A winning ticket from the Dec. 3, 2023, drawing worth $200,000 will expire in a few weeks, said Neil Watson, a Nebraska Lottery spokesman.
It was purchased at a Kwik Shop convenience store in Falls City.
