Lucky Boston guy scoops $100,000 recently in a lottery game

A lucky lottery player in Massachusetts won a $100,000 prize last week after using the same numbers for nearly three decades that were handed down to him by his father.

Theofanis Bougas, who lives in the Brighton neighborhood of Boston, won the $100,000 top prize in “Mass Cash” after the five numbers on his ticket matched those selected in the game’s Friday, March 3 drawing.

The set of numbers Bougas used, 6-8-19-20-26, was given to him by his father, and he had been using those same digits for 28 years, according to a statement from the Massachusetts State Lottery.

“He plans on sharing his winnings with his mother,” the State Lottery said in its statement. Bougas purchased his winning ticket at 6-Twelve Convenience located at 628 E. Broadway in South Boston.

The store receives a $1,000 bonus for its sale, according to the statement. Elsewhere in Massachusetts on Friday, two other lucky lottery players also won the $100,000 top prize in the “Mass Cash” game.
