A lowcountry man wins $300,000 recently in Charleston
A Lowcountry man says he'll be putting the $300,000 he won on a scratch-off ticket in the bank for safe keeping.
Lottery officials said he scratched the ticket when he got to work, but after thinking "no way," he stayed instead of taking the rest of the day off.
He told lottery officials he's in no rush to spend the prizemoney and will be putting it in the bank. His winning ticket was bought at the College Corner on Coming Street in Charleston.
It was a spur of the moment decision, the winner told lottery officials. I had $10 in change and said give me one of those tickets.
The College Corner received a $3,000 commission for selling the claimed ticket. There are three more top prizes of $300,000 remaining in the $10 Multiplier Surge game. The odds are 1 in 900,000.
