A scratch off lottery player from Wharton scoops a big jackpot recently

A pair of Texans are thanking their lucky stars Wednesday, September 6, after taking home millions in prizes playing the Texas Lottery.

The players out of Yoakum and Wharton collectively won $3 million, according to a set of Texas Lottery news releases.

The anonymous winner in Yoakum, located roughly 100 miles east of San Antonio, claimed a $1 million prize playing the scratch ticket game Ca$h Blowout, which offers over $200 million total prizes.

The player purchased the ticket at Circle R Drive In, located at 8945 FM 1593 Lolita, TX 77971. This was the second out of eight top prizes claimed. The odds of winning a top prize is one in 3.92, according to a Texas Lottery news release.

The second to strike gold was a resident in Wharton, located about 60 miles southwest of Houston.

The player claimed a $2 million prize playing Powerball, which challenges participants to correctly match five numbers between one and 69.

They picked up the ticket that matched the winning numbers 4-13-35-561-69 drawn on August 30, at the Players Cafe, located at 7801 N. Lamar Blvd., Suite E216, Austin, TX 78752.
