A lucky Bloomfield guy scoops a big jackpot recently in a lottery game

A Bloomfield resident won $250,000 Friday from a scratch-off lottery ticket, according to Connecticut Lottery.

The winning $250,000 CA$HWORD 10 ticket was sold at a Citgo gas station in Hartford on Albany Avenue. The game starts when a player scratches the "Your letters" box on each side and reveals their 20 letters.

The player then scratches the corresponding letters on all three cashword puzzles. If the player uncovers 10 words in the puzzles, they win the top prize of $250,000.

The odds of winning the top prize are 540,000 to 1, according to Connecticut Lottery.

On Sept. 7, a Seymour resident claimed $25,000 from the same game after buying a winning ticket at a S.A. Cigar Junction in Stratford.

A player wins $25,000 by uncovering nine words.
