Fortunate Poughkeepsie couple wins $2.5 million recently in a lottery game

A Poughkeepsie couple is celebrating after winning a $2.5 million Powerball prize, the New York Lottery announced today.

The couple, who have chosen to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket at a local gas station. The winning numbers for the Powerball drawing were 10, 18, 41, 54, and 55, with a Powerball number of 18.

The Poughkeepsie couple matched all five white balls, earning them a total of $1 million. But because they added the Power Play option to their ticket, their prize was multiplied by 2, bringing their total winnings to $2.5 million.

The couple plans to use the money to pay off their mortgage and take a well-deserved vacation.

Powerball is a multi-state lottery game that is played in 45 states, as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The game offers players the chance to win life-changing jackpots.
