A Couple from Lancaster County wins $1 million in scratch off lottery game
The Officials from Pennsylvania Lottery presented a commemorative check to the winners of a recent $1 million Scratch-Off draw called $1 Million Money Tree.
The retailer who sold out the winning lottery ticket, a Rutter's located at 935 Plank Road in Duncansville, Blair County received a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
John Fresh of Lancaster County, who was traveling with his wife, Jan Morrissey, the lottery winner told the media that,“We were in that area for a gun show and stopped by Rutter’s for a bathroom break. That’s when we decided to purchase a ticket,".
“I had $20 in my pocket and decided to buy that ticket,” he continued. “We scratched it when we went back to the motel in Altoona and still weren’t sure how much we won until we took it back to the store the next day.”
The couple says they are both retired and have a passion for volunteering and travel.
